Cheers 🥂 to the woman I'm becoming
Dear Me,
I don't say this often enough, but thank you.
Thank you for waking up every day and trying, even when life hasn't always gone the way you imagined. Thank you for carrying responsibilities that nobody else fully understands. Thank you for finding the strength to keep moving, even when your heart has been tired.
Sometimes I forget that you've been through things that quietly changed you.
Not everything left visible scars.
Some experiences simply changed the way you trust, the way you love, the way you hope, and the way you see the world.
Yet here you are.
Still believing that tomorrow can be better.
That deserves more credit than you give yourself.
There were moments when you questioned everything.
You questioned your abilities.
You questioned your decisions.
You questioned whether you were falling behind.
You looked around and saw people getting married, building businesses, buying homes, travelling, reaching milestones, and for a moment, you wondered whether life had forgotten you.
It hadn't.
Life was simply unfolding differently.
And different doesn't mean worse.
One of the hardest lessons you've had to learn is that comparison steals more than joy.
It steals gratitude.
It makes you overlook the progress you've already made because you're too busy measuring yourself against someone else's journey.
But your life was never meant to look exactly like anyone else's.
Your timeline belongs to you.
Your story belongs to you.
And that's enough.
I also want you to stop apologizing for growing.
Not everyone will understand the woman you're becoming.
Some people only know the version of you that always said yes.
The version that tolerated disrespect.
The version that stayed quiet to keep the peace.
The version that put everyone else's needs before her own.
But you've changed.
You have boundaries now.
You choose peace more often.
You walk away from situations that drain you.
You no longer feel responsible for fixing everyone.
And while not everyone will like that version of you, she is healthier.
Protect her.
Please.
There was a time when you believed that working harder would solve everything.
That if you simply pushed yourself enough, everything else would eventually fall into place.
But you've learned that rest isn't laziness.
It's necessary.
You cannot pour from an empty cup.
You cannot keep giving your best when you've given yourself nothing.
Some days, the bravest thing you can do is pause.
Take the break.
Sleep.
Go for a walk.
Read a book.
Laugh with people who make your heart feel lighter.
Life is more than deadlines and to-do lists.
Don't forget to live while you're building the life you want.
I also hope you continue to be kind to yourself.
You speak to other people with patience.
You encourage them.
You remind them that mistakes don't define them.
Now speak to yourself the same way.
You don't have to be perfect.
You don't have to know everything.
You don't have to get every decision right.
You're allowed to learn.
You're allowed to change your mind.
You're allowed to begin again.
That isn't failure.
That's life.
Please don't lose your curiosity.
Keep asking questions.
Keep learning new things.
The world changes every day, and so will you.
Never believe you've reached a point where there's nothing left to learn.
Growth has a beautiful way of keeping us humble.
And while we're talking about growth, remember that healing isn't always obvious.
Sometimes healing looks like laughing again.
Sometimes it looks like sleeping peacefully.
Sometimes it looks like saying no without guilt.
Sometimes it looks like no longer checking whether someone has replied to your message.
Sometimes it looks like realizing that something which once broke your heart no longer has power over you.
Healing doesn't always announce itself.
Sometimes you only notice it when you realize something no longer hurts the way it used to.
Keep protecting your peace.
Not because life will always be calm.
It won't.
There will still be disappointments.
Unexpected bills.
Plans that fall apart.
People who misunderstand you.
Doors that close.
But peace isn't the absence of problems.
It's knowing that your heart doesn't have to panic every time life becomes difficult.
Choose environments that make you feel safe.
Choose friendships that feel reciprocal.
Choose conversations that leave you lighter, not smaller.
Choose people who clap when you win.
Life is already challenging enough.
You don't need to surround yourself with people who make it harder.
I also hope you never stop dreaming.
Not because every dream will happen exactly the way you imagine.
But because dreaming gives life direction.
Keep writing.
Keep creating.
Keep building.
Keep believing that the work you're doing today matters, even if the results aren't immediate.
Success often arrives quietly.
It grows behind the scenes long before the world notices.
Be patient with yourself.
Remember that happiness isn't something waiting for you at the finish line.
It exists in ordinary moments.
A good cup of tea.
A peaceful evening.
A conversation with someone you love.
A beautiful sunset.
Finishing a task you kept postponing.
A genuine laugh.
Don't become so focused on chasing big moments that you forget to enjoy the small ones.
They make up most of life.
And finally, thank you.
Thank you for refusing to give up.
Thank you for choosing hope even when fear seemed louder.
Thank you for believing that there is still more life to live, more love to give, more lessons to learn, and more beautiful memories waiting to be made.
I'm proud of you.
Not because you've done everything perfectly.
But because you've kept going.
And sometimes, that's the greatest achievement of all.
With love,
Me ❤️
