Bye, 2024

I can’t help but look back at the whirlwind of a year it has been.

This year wasn’t perfect—far from it—but it was mine.

It was messy, unpredictable, and sometimes downright exhausting, but it was also filled with growth, lessons, and moments I’ll carry with me forever.

The Good

Let me start with the bright spots, because despite everything, there were many. This year, I accomplished things I didn’t think I could.

There were moments when I surprised myself—like sticking to a new habit that once felt impossible or stepping out of my comfort zone in ways I never thought I would.

I deepened some of my relationships, creating memories that will forever make me smile. Whether it was laughing uncontrollably with friends, having those deep, soul-nourishing conversations, or simply enjoying quiet moments with the people who matter most, 2024 reminded me how important connection is.

Professionally, I had wins that boosted my confidence. They weren’t without struggle, but they reminded me of my capabilities.

And then there were those small personal victories—reading more books, cooking more meals at home, or just learning to appreciate the art of slowing down.

The Challenges

But 2024 wasn’t all smooth sailing. There were tough days—days when I questioned myself, my choices, and my direction.

There were nights when the weight of everything felt like too much. Some relationships didn’t make it to the end of the year, and that hurt. Letting go is never easy, even when it’s necessary.

I faced setbacks that tested my patience and my resilience. Some goals had to be put on hold, not because I didn’t care, but because I simply didn’t have the energy.

And that was a lesson in itself—learning to listen to my body and mind, and to accept that I can’t do everything all at once.

Financially, there were struggles. Balancing priorities wasn’t easy, and there were moments when I had to make difficult decisions. But even in those moments, I found strength I didn’t know I had.

The Lessons

If I had to sum up 2024 in one word, it would be growth. Every challenge, every mistake, and every moment of doubt taught me something. I learned to be kinder to myself, to celebrate progress instead of perfection, and to lean into the discomfort of change.

I also learned that it’s okay to rest. Taking a step back doesn’t mean giving up; it means gathering the strength to move forward. I’ve learned to appreciate the little things more—a sunny morning, a heartfelt compliment, or even just a moment of peace in a busy day.

Looking Ahead

As I say goodbye to 2024, I feel a mix of emotions. There’s relief for having made it through another year, gratitude for the good times, and a bit of sadness for the moments I’ll never get back.

But there’s also hope.

I’m stepping into 2025 with a clearer understanding of who I am and what I want. I know it won’t be easy, but I’m ready to take on whatever comes my way.

2024 showed me that I’m stronger than I think, and that even in the toughest moments, there’s always something to be grateful for.

So here’s to the year that was, with all its chaos and beauty. Bye, 2024—you were one hell of a teacher. Let’s see what 2025 has in store.

The Truth is, You Don’t Need Closure

Cut ties and move on without glancing back… Image via Unsplash What did I do? What did I say? What could I have done differently? Is there someone else? Can we still be friends? Can we fix this? We torture ourselves with questions when a relationship ends. We want to know the answers. We want to know why. We want to make sense of what we don’t understand. Yes, closure can help. It can bridge the gap between confusion and heartbreak. It guides us to accept the loss and find the strength to look ahead. With closure, we realize there is no turning back. There are no what-ifs. No second chance. The other person has made up their mind for the reason of x, y, and z. As much as it hurts, closure can help us turn the page and start a new chapter. But what happens if you don’t get closure? What do you do when your ex won’t communicate or has abruptly ended all contact with you? Just one day, poof — they're gone. Or your relationship ended on bad terms. You saw it coming. You knew the brea...
